We wanted to mention an important achievement by one of our physicians from earlier this year.
Lewis W. Marshall, Jr., MD, JD, FAAEP, FAADM, Brookdale’s Chairman of Emergency Services was awarded the distinguished AAPS Degree of Fellow by the American Academy of Disaster Medicine (AADM), an affiliate academy of the American Association of Physician Specialists, Inc. (AAPS). Dr. Marshall received the honor at the AAPS Annual Scientific Meeting, for demonstrating leadership and participation within AADM. Among those present at the event were Dr. Louis Sullivan, former Secretary of Health and Human Services and Dr. Regina Benjamin, US Surgeon General. Dr. Marshall is one of the first two physicians in the United States to receive this fellowship.
Dr. Marshall is Board Certified in Disaster Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine and Legal Medicine. He was founding President of the of AADM and the affiliated American Board of Disaster Medicine, both dedicated to insuring our nation’s physicians are prepared for future disasters.
