MediSys Grabs Bragging Rights to First NYC Baby: Born At Brookdale

Of the nearly 70 hospital in the New Your City region, only one can be first, and Brookdale was lucky enough to be the location of this years “First Baby” in New York City in 2007.

Baby boy, Odwyer Mohammed, was born at precisely 12 midnight leaving little room for dispute about who was the first born, but it was the aggressive work of our Medical, Nursing, and Public Affairs staff that got the information out to the media resulting in a large and high spirited press conference to start the New Year.

As soon as the birth ended, a call was sent out to Malika Granville the Public Affairs on call staff member who along with the help of Public Affairs staff Andrew Rubin and Brookdale’s own Ruth Richman reached out to the media to alert them to the good news.

We would like to thank the alert nursing staff, the physicians who were present during the delivery and all of the other staff who were a part of this exciting start to 2007.

The story ran in most of the NYC print media as well as on most of the New York TV and radio news programs. Above is a link to the story as it ran on WCBS Channel 2.
